9 month sales turnover of RMK was EUR 111 million 28.10
The sales turnover of RMK for the first 9 months of 2013 amounted to EUR 111 million, which is 8% more than in the same period last year. The unaudited net profit of RMK for the first 9 months amounted to EUR 20.9 million, which is 26% more than in the same period last year.
“We are ahead of
schedule with our timber sales volume because the favourable weather conditions
in spring made it possible to extend the period of cutting,” explained Aigar
Kallas, Chairman of the Management Board of RMK, and added that by the end of
the year, the cutting and sales volume are going to level out with the
scheduled volumes. “However, we are still trying to reach a higher level of
profitability with similar sales volumes and prices as a result of reducing
costs,” assures Kallas.
RMK earned the
majority of its revenue from the sale of timber and wood chips. In nine months,
RMK sold 2.4 million cubic metres of timber with a total value of EUR 103
million. The average timber sales price turned out to be EUR 43.30 per cubic
metre, on the same level with the first 9 months of last year. In the first 9
months, RMK sold cutting waste and wood chips in the volume of 0.2 million
cubic metres for EUR 4.5 million, with an average sales price of EUR 28 per
cubic metre.
Compare: In nine
months in 2012, RMK sold 2.1 million cubic metres of timber for a total of EUR
90 million. The average timber sales price turned out to be EUR 42.90 per cubic
metre. In the first 9 months, cutting waste and wood chips were sold in the
volume of 0.27 million cubic metres for EUR 8.9 million. The average sales
price amounted to EUR 32.70 per cubic metre.

profit-making state agency established under the Forestry Act, aimed at the
sustainable and efficient management of state forests. RMK grows reforestation
material, organises forest works, executes practical nature protection works
and is engaged in forest and timber sales. Additionally, RMK establishes
opportunities for nature walking and forest holidays in recreation areas, in
Estonia’s five national parks and almost 40 other protected areas, and shapes
nature awareness. RMK manages 38% of Estonia’s forests.
