29.08.2007 - The supervisory board of the RMK removed the chairman of the management board 29.09
At the meeting of the supervisory board of the RMK held on 28 August, the supervisory board decided to remove Ülo Viilup, the chairman of the management board of the RMK.
According to Ülle Rajasalu, the chairman of the
supervisory board of the RMK, it was a difficult but necessary
decision. “We appreciate Ülo Viilup as a person who has been active in
state forest management for a long time and has made a significant
contribution to it. However, we must admit that during the recent
years, there have been many deficiencies in the management of the RMK
as a large and widespread system,” Rajasalu explained.
The position of the chairman of the management board of the RMK will be
filled pursuant to the Statutes of the RMK, the deadline for
applications will be 21 September. Until then, the tasks of the
chairman will be performed by the board member Raivo Võlli according to
the division of tasks between the board members. Olav Etverk, a member
of the management board, will also continue work.
