Soomaa National Park Visitor Center
The Soomaa National Park Visitor Centre is located on the site of the former Kõrtsi-Tõramaa farm, in the heart of Soomaa National Park. Surrounding it are bogs and mires, meandering rivers, lush floodplain forests, and blooming wooded meadows. As typical for wetlands, the area is rich in insects, which in turn provide food for a diverse birdlife.
The Visitor Centre, together with the information point, is housed in a large, freshly renovated main building. A permanent exhibition “Through Soomaa by Dugout Boat” will soon open, offering an overview of the values of Soomaa National Park. Hikers on the Oandu–Aegviidu–Ikla trail can take a break here after long stretches of gravel roads, charge their phones and use the WiFi network. The exposition of the Visitor Centre will be completed at the beginning of 2026.
