Announcement!

The Agriculture and Food Board warns about the spread of avian influenza. Please stay away from dead birds outdoors and ensure that your pets do not come into contact with them.
NB! If you find a dead bird, do not touch it or move it anywhere! Please report it to the Agriculture and Food Board by calling 605 4767 or 1247.

This campfire site was designed primarily as a rest stop for hikers on RMK Peraküla-Aegviidu-Ähijärve hiking route.

The campfire site is on the RMK Peraküla-Aegviidu-Ähijärve hiking route.

Camping

Maximum number of tents (for 4) allowed is 8.

Amenities

Fire ring, table and benches, firewood shelter, dry toilet.

  • Before going on a nature walk please read the Environmental code of conduct (freedom to roam), rules of conduct and waste-sorting policy
  • The campfire site is in private land. Saunamaa is like a sauna village, which offers different saunas with their unique charms and features.
  • From Saunamaa Tourist Farm it is possible to book sauna and accommodation.

The campfire site is situated in Haanja Nature Park, about restrictions please read here. Further information can be obtained from the Environmental Board (+372 662 5999, info@keskkonnaamet.ee).

Navigation instructions : Saunamaa campfire site is located at Rõuge-Haanja Road in Nogu village. Drive from Rõuge towards Kasaritsa until you get to the intersection. Take the right exit, which goes towards Koke guesthouse. Drive about 3 km and follow the signs. Turn left, following the signs, and you will get to Saunamaa.
