The campfire site is located on the banks of the picturesque Poruni river, whose primeval valley is under the special attention together with Puhatu Wetland Complex. Here you can meet many rare species of animals and plants, for example eagles belonging to the first protection category.

Navigation instructions : At the 36th km of the Jõhvi-Vasknarva road, turn left (sign "Porun hiking trail"). From there, drive 12 km to the border guards' cordon, turn left (sign on crossroad) and drive straight for 4 km to the barrier, to the left of which is a parking lot where you can leave your car. After 500 m on right, on the other side of the ditch there is Ovintse campfire site. Right at the beginning of the Porun hiking trail on the bank of the river, and on the ruins of the old Ovintse ranger's place. NB! For those coming from the direction of Narva, Google Maps offers the wrong road through Auvere, which leads to a dead end. The only access is from the Jõhvi–Vasknarva road.
