Lake Rae hiking trail (2.6 km or 4 km)
The Rae Lake hiking trail offers two different ways to enjoy the diverse natural environment. The shorter route runs along the lake shore to the beaver observation tower and back again, covering a total distance of 2.6 km. At 4 km, the longer trail continues from the beaver tower, winding along a diverse forest road and landscape.
If you are lucky, you may spot kingfishers and signs of beaver activity while walking along the lakeshore. The longer route offers the opportunity to explore different types of forest, home to both young and old forest trees. The trail is suitable for hikers of all ages, whether you are looking for a leisurely stroll or an active hike. Depending on the season, you can pick mushrooms and forest berries in the surrounding area, or enjoy a refreshing swim in the lake.
There is something for everyone, whether you are looking for a peaceful trip in nature, to spend time with your family, or simply to be in nature.
