We have been entrusted with safeguarding and growing Estonia’s forest and biodiversity for generations.

Through our work, we create a positive living environment for Estonia’s people and preserve its natural diversity. Borrowing the words of Uku Masing, we strive to ensure that every Estonian can live a livelier life.

Our work aims to create added value for Estonia’s nature and people every day.

Our core values are a long-term view, serving as an example, and cooperation.

Long-term view

We look decades and centuries into the future with our activities. We know that every action we take affects ecosystems in Estonia and beyond. We use the long-term experience and science-based approach of Estonian foresters to ensure that RMK’s decisions are sustainable and as climate neutral as possible.

Serving as an example

We recognize our role as a leader in sustainable forestry and biodiversity conservation. Our clients and partners can rely on us and trust our data.

To consistently lead by example, we value development and innovation, share our data and knowledge with all stakeholders, and deliver on our commitments.

Focus of Activity

We are the only profit-making state institution in Estonia. In our activities, we are guided by the expectations of the owner, as set by the Minister of Climate Affairs, the statutes of RMK and other legislation.
