The Agriculture and Food Board warns about the spread of avian influenza. Please stay away from dead birds outdoors and ensure that your pets do not come into contact with them. NB! If you find a dead bird, do not touch it or move it anywhere! Please report it to the Agriculture and Food Board by calling 605 4767 or 1247.
The observation tower at the end of the study trail offers a magnificent view of Lake Elistvere. The tower also has information boards introducing the birds living on the lake. The study trail can be accessed during the opening hours of Elistvere Animal Park, visiting the animal park is subject to a fee.

Navigation instructions : Drive 12 km from Tartu towards Jõgeva, then turn right (sign "Elistvere loomapark 10") and drive into Elistvere village. When coming from Tallinn: drive to Jõgeva, then towards Tartu up to Tabivere. Turn left there (sign "Elistvere loomapark 6") and drive into Elistvere village. Start in the Animal Park behind the lynx's enclosure.
