The nature study trail, renovated in 2025/2026, starts at the former Emajõe-Suursoo Nature Centre (the historic Kantsi Tavern building). The trail forms a loop through the riverside floodplain, a sedge tussock fen meadow and a swamp birch forest before returning to the river along the edge of a drainage ditch. Information boards at the points of interest introduce the Emajõgi River and its role in shaping the surrounding landscape, the tree and shrub species of the floodplain forest, local plant and animal life, and the riverside habitats.

The use of any motorised or non-motorised vehicle on the trail is prohibited.
