Harimäe observation tower
Foot-and-mouth, a severe animal disease, is currently circulating in Europe and also poses a threat to animals in Estonia. Your help is needed to prevent animals here – sheep, cattle, goats, and other ungulates – from becoming infected. We ask that you please follow some important recommendations.
Renovated in 2025, the exterior of the Harimäe observation tower now has a strong metal structure (27.5 meters high) and wooden details. The tower has four observation platforms, the height from the highest one from the ground is 24 meters. There are also wooden benches on the platforms. The Harimäe observation tower offers stunning views of Otepää, as well as the Valga slope and Karula national park. The Tartu Marathon course runs past the tower.
There is a fireplace with a roof next to the tower that offers protection from rain and wind for 8-10 people. Up to 10 four-person tents are permitted in the area.
