Kiidjärve Visitor Center is located on the bank of the picturesque Ahja river in Kiidjärve village, at the heart of the Kiidjärve-Kooraste recreation area, surrounded by historical sights and scenic nature: the sandstone outcrops, the "ant kingdom", Valgesoo bog and Roiupalu primeval forest. Whether you walk or cycle here, or come by car, bus or train – here you can look around, have a rest and plan your further trip. It is possible to rent rooms in the centre for seminars and meetings. Those interested may view the displays and exhibitions, watch nature documentaries and register for nature education programmes. From the visitor centre you can go to the 3.2 km Roiupalu study trail or the 11.8 km Kiidjärve-Taevaskoja-Kiidjärve hiking trail. The visitor center gives information about RMK recreation and hiking opportunities. You can buy maps of RMK recreation areas, protected areas and hiking trails, as well as souvenirs. We offer various nature education programmes and study trips for schools, kindergartens and adults, and organise forest and nature events.

The Visitor Centre is located in Kiidjärve–Kooraste Recreation Area, Kiidjärve village, on the bank of the scenic Ahja River. The wonderful landscape of Põlva County with its famous outcrops, the kingdom of wood ants in Kiidjärve, the Valgesoo bog, and other valuable assets of nature and cultural heritage.
Hiking options
Visitor Centre is on the Peraküla-Aegviidu-Ähijärve hiking route. Nearby is Roiupalu study trail, Kiidjärve-Taevaskoja-Kiidjärve hiking trail, Valgesoo study trail, Laari forestry study trail, Kiidjärve Wood Ants Trail.
