Oandu campsite

Lääne-Viru County, Lahemaa National Park

A campsite where everything is at hand—artificial lake, Nature Centre and displays of cultural heritage, walking paths, fishing village, sea, manor museum, forestry museum.

Sights

Oandu reservoir lake, with its steep banks, muddy bottom and rich vegetation, is unsuitable for swimming but it is a popular fishing site. Oandu Visitor Centre is close-by, 2 km to Altja fishing village and the sea, and 3 km to Sagadi manor

Hiking options

Oandu old-growth forest trail, Oandu heritage trail, Oandu plant trail, Beaver trail and the beginning of Oandu-Aegviidu-Ikla hiking route are close-by.

Camping

Maximum number of tents (for 4) allowed is 15.

Information boards, 5 campfire sites with grillrest including outdoor fireplace, lean-to shelter, 2 picnic tables, DC, firewood shelter, 2 waste bins

Water

Drinking water 300 m in the well of Oandu Visitor Centre

Parking

Parking for 15 cars and 1 bus.

Navigation instructions : Drive 70 km from Tallinn towards Narva, turn left onto Viitna–Koljaku road and drive 6.5 km to Palmse village, turn right (at the sign 6 km to Sagadi). Drive on Palmse–Sagadi road, cross Rakvere–Haljala road (at the sign 2.5 km to the Sagadi manor) and drive ahead to Sagadi Manor. Turn left (at the sign 5 km to the Altja fishing village), drive 3 km on Sagadi–Altja road to the campsite gate with the sign RMK Oandu Campsite. Turn right and arrive at the campsite’s parking area.
