Ränkaja campfire site
Foot-and-mouth, a severe animal disease, is currently circulating in Europe and also poses a threat to animals in Estonia. Your help is needed to prevent animals here – sheep, cattle, goats, and other ungulates – from becoming infected. We ask that you please follow some important recommendations.
In the dialect of Hiiumaa, ‘ränkaja’ means someone who toils in the forest. Or a hard worker. As its name suggests, this campfire site is intended for hikers on the RMK Hiiumaa Hiking Route. The Ränkaja campfire site is a small and simple campfire site located in the heart of the Tahkuna peninsula, amongst the blueberry pines and on the edge of a small overgrown lake.
