Sights
The observation tower is located in the oldest and highest part of West Estonia, on the Kõpu peninsula, on Kaplimäe, which is the second highest mountain in Hiiumaa (63.5 m). The tower offers views of the forests of Hiiumaa and the Baltic Sea. According to folk tales, there was a chapel on the hill once. However, the church teacher was a very bulky man who had serious trouble climbing a high mountain to hold a service. The religious man himself set fire to the chapel in order to escape from the everysunday toil.
