RMK hiking route Oandu-Aegviidu-Ikla / Võsu–Nõmmeveski (19 km)
The second section of the RMK Oandu-Aegviidu-Ikla hiking route begins at the Võsu campsite. It first passes through the small town of Võsu, then runs along old forest roads and through the old village of Võhma, before reaching the waterfalls of Joaveski and Nõmmeveski.
Located on the southern shore of Käsmu Bay, Võsu is the best-known holiday destination in Lääne-Viru County thanks to its sandy beach. On the beach you will find a memorial bench dedicated to Georg Ots and Mikk Mikiver, who spent their summers in Võsu. There are ancient stone graves and tarand graves in the Tandemäe estuary in the village of Võhma. The Joaveski waterfall on the Loobu River and the Nõmmeveski waterfall on the Valgejõgi River are the best known waterfalls in Lahemaa. The Joaveski waterfall is made up of six terraces, each 0.5-1.1 metres high, while the Nõmmeveski waterfall is 1.2 metres high. Both rivers used to have a hydroelectric power station.
