Salajõe rest stop
The rest stop is located on the edge of the Salajõgi Landscape Protection Area. The Salajõgi River is the largest karst area in Lääne County. It originates from Lake Leide and, after flowing underground for 1.3 km, emerges as the third largest subterranean river in Northern Estonia.

During periods of low water flow, only a few litres of water per second flows through the Salajõgi River. During periods of high flow, the water level rises to the point where it reaches the highway, filling the karst valley extensively and forming a lake.
During periods of high water, the Salajõgi River flows out of numerous springs sites and the so-called Tiberna hole, which is up to 20 metres wide and 2.5 metres deep. The hole is located 0.6 km southwest of the fields.

Drive to Keila. From Keila start driving towards Haapsalu. 12 km before Haapsalu turn to Linnamäe. From this road turn to Dirhami and drive for 4 km. Parking area is on your right.
