Tädu campfire site

A popular campfire site near the city on the Viimsi peninsula, next to the Tädu Nature Study Trail, which is well suited for taking a break and having a picnic. Also located in the vicinity of the campfire site is the Tädu Health Trail, where a ski trail is prepared in winter. Characteristic of the Tädu forest are spruce growing on stones, with the forest also being rich in forestry products, offering blueberries, lingonberries, raspberries, and plenty of mushrooms.

Navigation instructions : By car:

  • Coming from Viimsi, drive 7 km from the center of Viimsi along the Randvere road, and just before the beginning of the Randvere settlement (beyond the 70-limit sign), a sign points to the Tädu campfire site to the right. Continue driving 300m along the gravel road to the prohibition sign, where the parking lot for the campfire site is located;
  • Coming from Muuga and Mähe, drive along the Randvere road towards Tammneeme, immediately after the end of the Randvere settlement, a sign points to the left, Tädu's campfire site. Drive 300m along the gravel road to the prohibition sign, where the campfire sites parking lot is located.

There are three ways to arrive to the Tädu campfire site by public transport:
  • take city bus no. 38 (Viru Keskus-Muuga) to the Hansunõmme stop, where you have to change to the Randvere-Haabneeme bus V2 (see timetables here), the exit stop is Randvere aedlinn, walk about 200m until you reach the Tädu campfire site sign pointing to the left. Continue walking along the gravel road  300m until you reach the prohibition sign, the campfire site is on the right.
  • take city bus no.1A (Viru Keskus-Viimsi keskus) to the final stop, where you have to change to the Randvere-Haabneeme bus V2 (see timetables here), the exit stop is Randvere aedlinn, walk back approx. 200m until you reach the Tädu campfire sign pointing to the left . Continue walking along the gravel road  300m until you reach the prohibition sign, the campfire site is on the right.
  • by bus no.115 (Tallinn-Mähe-Randvere-Tammneeme), the exit stop is Randvere aedlinn. Walk about 200m until you reach the Tädu campfire site sign pointing to the left. Continue walking along the gravel road 300m until you reach the prohibition sign, the campfire site is on the right.
