The total budget of the project is 10 million euros, and it is funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement number 101157094.
RMK is participating in the project as associate partner.
Project lead is Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke).
Introduction
The aim of the project is to develop precise solutions for climate resilience in agriculture and forestry across the European boreal region, in Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
Topics being explored by the project include:
- Co-creating adaptation strategies
- Diversifying agricultural production
- Sustainable water management and recycling
- Soil function enhancement
- Assessing vulnerable forest types
- Innovative forest regeneration in drought-prone sites
- Closer-to-nature forest management
- Using climate-considerate tree material to replant forests
