Majakivi–Pikanõmme nature trail (7 km)
The 7 km Majakivi-Pikanõmme nature study trail starts from the car park near the village of Virve. This trail takes you through the heart of the Juminda peninsula, where sand ridges covered in pine forests alternate with strips of swamp. Majakivi, the largest boulder in Lahemaa, (height 7 metres, circumference 32 metres), stands alone in the middle of the peninsula. The Pikanõmme observation tower is located at the highest point on the peninsula.
A submarine base or demagnetisation port was built between the villages of Virve and Hara during Soviet times. Its underwater facilities and cable system covered the Hara Bay in its entirety and extended 18 km from the tip of the Juminda Peninsula to neutral waters.
